Bought for gardening professionally. I was worried that they wouldn't be sturdy enough as I usually wear steel toe capped boots for work but was pleasantly surprised. They are sturdy but very comfortable. I ordered my usual boot size and have worn 'normal' socks. I think if you're wanting to wear thick socks, you'd want to size up as they are quite snug. Would certainly recommend!
